Samuel H. Allen (1862-1926) was born in Mount Pleasant, Utah, on 15 July 1862. Subsequent to graduating from the University of Utah in 1881, he commenced his medical education at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1888 and received his degree in 1890. Returning to Utah in 1891, Dr. Allen established a reputation as one of the foremost surgeons in the state. In 1916, he and Dr. George W.
